The capstone trip is back, after a long Covid break! About 2 dozen 8th & 9th grade CIP students will travel to China for 15 days in June 2024.
What is "capstone"? It's a culmination of 9 years of immersive language learning, and is one of the major educational achievements of the ISD-742 immersion programs. Students travel with bilingual chaperones to a native-speaking country, to get the ultimate practice in using their extensive language skills. They'll visit cities of different sizes, climb mountains, learn about the economy of tea, and so much more.
- Beijing: Temple of Heaven, Tian An Men, Forbidden City, Great Wall, visit a local high school.
- Chengdu, Sichuan: Wenshufang Buddhist Monastery, market shopping, Qing Yang Gong Daoist shrine, People's Park.
- Zunyi: Sea of Tea, Jin Ding Shan mountain.
